Jane Ila My mom! She lost her hearing when I was 13 (she was 43) and went through a pretty big adjustment. She managed to change her career and get her PhD while learning what it was like to be deaf. She went on to be the president of the association of late deafened adults, to becoming a board member of the international association of assistance dog partners. She is now retired, still heavily involved in those organizations, is lucky enough to snow bird with my dad and she loves her mahjongg tournaments! Her favorite colors are blue and red and probably purple too lol
